Venus in aspect to Saturn
Saturn concerns time, structure and what must be earned; Venus concerns affection, pleasure and worth. Their contact makes love serious. Attachment is formed slowly and kept, standards are high, and there is a strong preference for the durable over the delightful. Early experience often included a shortage of warmth, approval or money, which leaves a sense that affection is conditional on performance. What follows is real loyalty and a marked ability to sustain relationships through difficulty. Self-worth is the recurring theme, and it is usually set lower than the evidence justifies. Taste is classic and restrained.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
A trine or a sextile gives commitment without much coldness. Relationships are chosen carefully and last, financial sense is sound, and the person is dependable in a way that is felt rather than announced. Age differences and long friendships often feature. The limitation is caution: love this well considered may decline the risk that would have made it larger, and comfort can be mistaken for contentment.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposed, affection meets delay and doubt. Love may arrive late, be complicated by duty or distance, or come with a persistent sense of not quite deserving it. Warmth is felt considerably more than it is shown. This configuration matures well: the doubt loosens with lived evidence, and what is built under it tends to be among the most durable material in a chart.
The conjunction
Conjunct, love takes Saturn's form: reserved, faithful, expressed through reliability rather than display. Affection is given carefully and withdrawn almost never. There is often responsibility inside a relationship, or a partner who arrives with obligations attached. The placement improves markedly with age, as the early anxiety about worth gives way to the plain fact of a life other people have depended on.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
