Uranus in aspect to South Node
Uranus breaks pattern and the South Node makes even that a pattern. This is someone who has been leaving, improvising and refusing arrangements for a long time, and does it extremely well. Independence is genuine and it is also the default, which means it stops being a choice and starts being the thing that cannot be examined. The freedom is real; whether it is being used for anything is the question the configuration never asks itself. Occupied freedom and unoccupied freedom feel identical from inside, and only the biography tells them apart.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
A trine or a sextile keeps the freedom useful. The person adapts fast, is unshockable, and can leave a situation cleanly when leaving is right. Nothing here obstructs growth except how well the escape works, and it works well enough that it is never held up for inspection. Leaving cleanly is a real skill and is not the same as leaving well, which is a separate one.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposition, the exit is taken automatically. Every commitment is broken at the same stage, and the breaking is explained as authenticity. Remaining inside one arrangement past the usual point is the experiment that matters — and the stage at which it usually breaks is identifiable, which makes the experiment easier to design than most. Naming the stage in advance, to somebody else, is what makes it survivable.
The conjunction
Conjunct, disconnection is the practised skill. Such people are strikingly original and strikingly hard to hold on to, and often discover in middle life that they have been running the same departure repeatedly. The discovery is unwelcome, since originality was the thing they were most confident about, and the departures were the least original part of them.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
