Uranus in aspect to Pluto
Both planets are slow enough that their aspects hold for years at a time, so this contact is shared by an entire cohort and describes historical conditions rather than a personality. It only becomes personal when one of the two aspects a personal planet or an angle, or occupies a house where the pressure has somewhere to go. At the collective level the pairing combines Uranus, which disrupts and invents, with Pluto, which concentrates and rebuilds from the ground. The periods it marks are ones of structural upheaval, in politics, in technology and in what a society is willing to say out loud.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
The easier configurations coincide with generations that absorbed radical change into ordinary life without much visible tearing. Individually the aspect is background. It says something about a person only when Uranus or Pluto sits close to the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars or an angle, at which point the house and the personal contact, not the outer pair itself, carry the interpretation.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
The square and the opposition mark periods of open confrontation between an established order and the pressure to remake it; the mid nineteen sixties and the years around 2012 are recent examples. Members of those cohorts share a temperamental impatience with received arrangements. For any single chart this remains unreadable until a faster planet or an angle brings it down to a particular life.
The conjunction
The conjunction is rare, the most recent falling in the mid nineteen sixties in Virgo, and it names a generation formed during a thorough reordering of social assumptions. As with any outer-planet pair, it distinguishes nobody within that group. Its personal expression depends entirely on house placement and on close contact with the lights, the angles or the personal planets, and is read from those.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
