Sun in aspect to Pluto
Pluto describes what operates below the surface: power, compulsion, hidden dynamics, and the process by which something is stripped down and rebuilt. In contact with the Sun it gives an identity with weight behind it. Presence is noticeable even when the manner is quiet, will is concentrated, and the person is drawn to what other people would rather not examine. Life includes at least one thorough remaking, usually not chosen. Issues of control appear on both sides, in the wish to hold a situation together and in encounters with others who wanted the same thing. Nothing here is superficial.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
A trine or a sextile gives depth that is usable rather than demanding. Resilience is high, motives are read accurately, and the person can go into difficult territory, professional or personal, without being destabilised by it. Regeneration after loss is faster than average. The risk is understatement: real power held so easily that it never gets deliberately directed at anything worth the whole of it.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
The square and the opposition put power in play. Struggles over control, with authority figures or within close relationships, recur until the underlying pattern is recognised as one's own. Intensity can overshoot its target. What develops is considerable psychological honesty, since the arrangement makes self-deception expensive. Charts with this contact often work in fields that require exactly that, and they are rarely naive.
The conjunction
Conjunct, identity and depth are inseparable. Ordinary situations are experienced at high intensity and half-measures hold no appeal. The capacity for sustained focus is exceptional, and so is the tendency to fuse with whatever has been taken up. Periodic collapse and rebuilding of the self-concept is normal for this placement rather than a sign of failure. Privacy is a genuine need, not a habit.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
