Sun in aspect to Pallas
Pallas is applied intelligence: seeing the pattern, finding the strategy, solving the thing by understanding its shape rather than by force. On the Sun it becomes constitutive. Such people are identified early as clever and tend to build a self on being the one who works it out, which serves them well and makes not knowing unusually uncomfortable. The identification is usually made by adults before the person has any say in it, and it is difficult to put down later because it has always been the thing that got them approval.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
Trine or sextile, the intelligence is available without being a performance. Problems are solved and the solving is not the point, which makes the person easy to work with and hard to rattle. Colleagues bring them difficulties without bracing for a lecture, which is why they hear about problems earlier than anyone else. They are also, for the same reason, unusually good at being wrong in public.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposition, cleverness and identity get in each other's way. Recognition is sought for the wrong faculty, or the person refuses ground where they might not be the smartest in the room. Being visibly a beginner at something is the cure, and it works precisely because it is humiliating in a way that turns out to be survivable.
The conjunction
Conjunct, to be is to perceive the pattern. It produces designers, strategists, diagnosticians and lawyers, and an identity that takes a real knock whenever the answer will not come. Not knowing is experienced as a failure of character rather than as an ordinary condition, which makes genuinely hard problems disproportionately distressing rather than interesting.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
