Sun in aspect to Jupiter
Jupiter enlarges what it touches and supplies a sense of meaning, faith and possibility. Joined to the Sun it enlarges the self. These charts tend toward confidence, a broad frame of reference and a belief that things generally work out, which is often self-fulfilling because it keeps a person in motion where others stop. Teaching, travel, publishing and law appear frequently. The pairing also inflates: plans get scoped beyond what the day can hold, and the appetite for more can crowd out the discipline that would make more possible. Generosity is a reliable feature, sometimes exceeding the actual resources behind it.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
A trine or a sextile brings the easy luck this pair is known for, which is mostly optimism producing opportunity. Doors open because the person expects them to and keeps knocking. Good humour survives setbacks, and there is usually a mentor somewhere in the story. Complacency is the standing risk, since gifts that arrive without struggle are seldom developed to their limit.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
The square and the opposition give the same enthusiasm with a poorer sense of scale. Promises outrun delivery, opinions get held more strongly than the evidence supports, and excess of one kind or another has to be reckoned with. The corrective is proportion, learned by overshooting and adjusting. Charts with this contact often grow into the size they first only claimed.
The conjunction
Conjunct, the Sun takes on Jupiter's scale directly. Presence is large, the outlook is generous, and other people tend to expect good things from the person before there is evidence. Belief in one's own view can harden into something that resists correction. The placement rewards a chosen discipline; without one it spreads across too much ground and arrives nowhere in particular.
