Sun in aspect to Chiron
The Sun is what a person is becoming; Chiron is the place that will not come right no matter how much competence is built around it. Joined, the identity itself is organised around a sensitivity. People with this contact often describe a lifelong sense of being slightly off the template, and they are frequently the ones others bring their own version of that feeling to. The gift and the sore spot are the same material, which is why the skill is real and the confidence lags behind it. Fathers, or whoever stood in for authority early, are usually somewhere in the account — not always as the cause, but as the person in front of whom the difference was first noticed.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
Trine or sextile, the sensitivity is available rather than raw. Such people teach, mentor or treat, and do it without needing the room to notice what it cost them. The difficulty is that ease can leave the thing unexamined: help is given outward for years before it is ever turned inward, and nobody thinks to ask, because the person carrying it is so obviously coping. It generally takes a specific invitation, from someone who has noticed, before any of it is spoken about directly.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposition, the identity keeps colliding with the tender place. Achievement arrives and fails to register; praise lands somewhere it cannot be felt. What loosens it is usually work in the same territory as the injury, done for someone else, until the competence becomes undeniable from outside. Insight alone does very little here — the person has generally understood the pattern for years — and the change comes from accumulating evidence that will not fit the old verdict.
The conjunction
Conjunct, the wound is not a feature of the life but its axis. This is the strongest signature of the wounded healer, and it tends to produce people whose authority in a field is inseparable from their own trouble in it. The risk is an identity that needs the injury to stay open, since being well would leave the question of who they are without it. That question is worth reaching before circumstances force it, which is not how it usually goes.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
