Sun in aspect to Ceres
Ceres is nourishment: how a person feeds and is fed, and how they survive losing what they were feeding. On the Sun, that becomes part of the identity. Such people are recognisable as providers long before they take on any formal role, and their sense of who they are tends to rise and fall with whether someone currently needs them. The vulnerability in that is easy to miss while the arrangement is working, and it is exposed the moment the last dependant becomes self-sufficient. Planning for that in advance is sensible and is almost never done.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
Trine or sextile, the giving is unforced and does not deplete. Warmth is offered without conditions and the person is comfortable receiving in return, which is the rarer half of the arrangement and the reason this version lasts. Most people who give this much have no practice at being on the other side of it. Here it was modelled by somebody early, which is generally where it comes from.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposition, self and service compete. Either the person disappears into looking after others and calls it character, or care is given in a way that quietly demands recognition. Doing something ungenerous and finding that the self survives it is the useful experiment — and it has to be actually ungenerous, not a rehearsed small indulgence that keeps the identity intact.
The conjunction
Conjunct, to be is to provide. There is real generosity here and a genuine crisis whenever the people being cared for no longer need it, which is why the empty nest lands so hard on this contact. The crisis is not sentimentality; the structure that held the identity together has been removed, and something else has to be found to occupy that position.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
