South Node and Juno · the familiar marriage
South Node in aspect to Juno
Juno is commitment and the South Node has practised it thoroughly, so partnership is something this person already knows how to do — possibly too well. A relationship is entered because its shape is recognisable, and the shape is frequently inherited from a parent's. It works, and it stops anything else from being tried. The competence is not in question; what is unexamined is whether the arrangement was ever actually chosen or merely reproduced. Competence and choice are different things, and only one of them was ever demonstrated. The fluency is real; the authorship of the arrangement is the open question.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
With a trine or a sextile the fluency is simply useful. The person is competent at being in a couple and can be relied on inside one, having watched the arrangement closely from an early age. Whether they enjoy it is a question the fluency has never made necessary to ask. Enjoyment and competence are separate matters and only the second was ever established.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
A square or an opposition makes the old arrangement block the road. The same partnership is repeated under new names, and the familiarity is offered as evidence of rightness. Noticing the recognition as a warning rather than a sign is what changes it, and it takes some nerve, since the recognition is the most convincing feeling available. The recognition is information about the past, not a verdict on the person.
The conjunction
Conjunct, the bond is the well-worn groove. Such people often marry early, or marry the pattern they grew up watching, and are the last to see the resemblance. It is usually pointed out to them by somebody outside the family. Family members generally see it immediately and say nothing. Nobody inside the family is well placed to raise it.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
