South Node in aspect to Ceres
The South Node is what is already fluent and Ceres is nourishment, so this is someone who has been looking after others for as long as they can remember. The competence is total and the role was assigned rather than chosen, often in childhood. It is genuinely valuable and it is also the most comfortable place to hide, since nobody will ever criticise a person for being too attentive to other people's needs and the person therefore never has to defend the arrangement. The arrangement is therefore never challenged from outside and has to be examined from within, if at all.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
With a trine or a sextile the practised care is simply available. The person provides well, without strain, and can put it down when it is not needed. The competence was acquired early and has stopped costing anything to use. Whether they ever wanted the role is a separate question that nothing in the configuration raises. It was assigned, competently discharged, and never revisited.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
A square or an opposition makes the role obstruct the road. Every step forward is interrupted by somebody requiring attention, and the interruptions are welcomed. Declining one of them is the whole exercise, and the objection that will arise is that the need was real — which it usually was, and which is not the point. Declining once, and surviving the guilt, is what proves the interruptions are optional.
The conjunction
Conjunct, caring is the default identity. Such people were the responsible child and are still doing it, and the question worth asking is what they would be if nobody needed anything. It rarely occurs to them to ask it unprompted. Asking it out loud, in front of somebody who will not rush to reassure them, is worth doing.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
