Pluto in aspect to Chiron
Pluto goes to the bottom of things and does not return unchanged; Chiron marks the place where that has already happened. The pairing suggests trouble that was not merely painful but formative, and a capacity to be present with severity that would frighten most people off. Very little is taken at face value, and there is a strong instinct for what others are concealing. That instinct is usually correct and is not always welcome, since most people would rather their concealment went unnoticed. Saying what they have noticed is a decision rather than a reflex, and they generally decide against it.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
Trine or sextile, depth is available without being compulsory. These are the people who stay in the room during a crisis and are still there afterwards. Crisis work, therapy, palliative medicine and investigation all fit, and the intensity reads as steadiness rather than as pressure. Nothing anybody says shocks them, which is what lets the other person finally say it, and they will not repeat it to anyone.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
A square or an opposition keeps returning to the same ground under force. Power and hurt get tangled — being harmed and being in control feel related — and relationships can be tested to destruction to find out which it is. Change here is real but arrives in long cycles rather than in insights. The years between the cycles are not wasted; they are where the material accumulates that makes the next passage possible.
The conjunction
Conjunct, the injury has been through the fire and what remains is durable. Such people are hard to shock and hard to reach, carry authority about extremity, and often underestimate how much of their ordinary life is still organised around not being caught out again. The vigilance was earned and has outlasted its occasion, and dismantling it feels less like relief than like removing a wall from a house.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
