Development arrives through commitment to one thing at the cost of others, which is uncomfortable for anyone who prefers options open. The pairing rewards depth over breadth and punishes hedging with a peculiar sense of time being wasted — a feeling that arrives reliably in any period when the person is keeping several possibilities alive rather than choosing between them. Choosing between them, badly, still beats keeping all of them open indefinitely. A poor choice, committed to, still teaches more than an excellent one held in reserve.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
Trine or sextile, the focus arrives naturally. The person finds their subject without agonising and stays with it, and the staying is what produces the growth rather than any particular talent. The subject is often found through an accident of circumstance rather than a search, and the person rarely questions it afterwards. Staying is the achievement here, not finding, and it is rarely credited as one.
