Neptune in aspect to Ceres
Neptune has no edges and Ceres gives; together they produce compassion without a stopping point. Care is extended to anyone in view, including people who will not use it and people actively taking advantage. The capacity is real and often beautiful, and the absent boundary is the whole of the difficulty. Warning such a person about a particular individual rarely works, since the response is that everybody deserves the benefit of the doubt, which is true and is not the same as everybody deserving unlimited resources. A trusted second opinion on where the giving goes is worth more here than any resolution to give less.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
Trine or sextile, the compassion is wide and still intact. The person gives generously and retains a sense of where they end, which is precisely what makes the giving sustainable. Empathy operates as perception here rather than as absorption. Feeling what somebody else feels and being flooded by it are different operations, and only one of them is useful.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposition, provision becomes self-erasure. Sacrifice is made reflexively and then obscured, and the person cannot say who did what for whom. Keeping an honest account is unglamorous and is the remedy, and the resistance to it is that accounting feels like the opposite of love, which it is not. A written record settles arguments this configuration would otherwise lose to its own generosity.
The conjunction
Conjunct, nurture dissolves into everything. It makes exceptionally tender people and reliable material for anyone looking for someone to carry them, which is worth being warned about. The generosity is real; the filter that would tell a genuine need from a practised appeal is not there. Somebody who will say plainly that a particular person is taking advantage is the single most useful ally available.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
