Moon and Pallas · feeling analysed
Moon in aspect to Pallas
The Moon reacts and Pallas works out why. Together they give an unusually accurate read on emotional situations — who is upset with whom, what the actual grievance is beneath the stated one. The perception is genuine. The hazard is that understanding a feeling becomes a way of not having it, and the person can be highly insightful about their own state and entirely outside it. Nobody around them tends to spot this, because the description they give of themselves is accurate in every particular. A friend willing to ask how they actually feel, rather than what they think about it, is worth keeping.
What each body brings
| Moon | feeling, need, habit |

| Pallas | pattern recognition and strategy |
The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
With a trine or a sextile, instinct and analysis inform each other. Hunches turn out to be reasoning done quickly, and the person can explain what they sensed without killing it. That combination is what makes a good clinician or a good negotiator, and it is much less common than either faculty alone. It also means their hunches can be argued with, which makes them safer to rely on.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
A square or an opposition sets the two against each other. Emotions are interrogated until they stop reporting, or the analysis is abandoned the moment feeling arrives. Letting a mood run its course unexamined is harder than it sounds and does more good — the examination is not neutral, and under this configuration it usually functions as a way of changing the subject.
The conjunction
Conjunct, feeling and strategy are one faculty. Such people are remarkable at diagnosing family systems and often the last to place themselves inside the diagram. The blind spot is structural rather than careless: the instrument cannot easily be turned on its own position. Somebody outside the family is generally required to place them in it.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
