Moon in aspect to Mars
Mars supplies drive, desire and anger; the Moon supplies the reflex that fires before deliberation. Together they give an emotional life with an edge on it. Reactions are quick, protectiveness is fierce, and feelings tend to convert into action rather than remaining internal. Courage in personal matters is a genuine feature, as is a certain heat around the home and the family. The contact also concerns the handling of anger: whether it is expressed as it arises, held and stored, or aimed at whoever is nearest. Physical energy fluctuates noticeably with mood.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
With a trine or a sextile, feeling and action cooperate. Anger comes out at roughly the right size and does not linger, and the person can defend themselves and others without much hesitation. Enterprise and domestic life coexist. Because the temper is functional it is rarely reviewed, and directness that reads as refreshing to some can land harder than intended on others.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposed, the temper is a subject in its own right. Irritability rises quickly, old grievances stay warm, and reactions can arrive with more force than the moment called for, or be swallowed and surface sideways later. This is workable material. Charts with the contact usually develop real command of their own anger, which is a more useful outcome than never having had to.
The conjunction
Conjunct, instinct and impulse are one movement, and there is almost no interval between feeling something and doing something about it. Protective loyalty is strong, courage is unhesitating, and impatience is chronic. Emotional honesty comes easily because concealment takes effort the placement cannot sustain. Regular physical exertion keeps the whole configuration in reasonable order.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
