Mercury in aspect to Chiron
Mercury is how a person thinks and makes themselves understood; Chiron there lodges the injury in speech, learning or being believed. Something in the early record — a stammer, a difference of language, a teacher, a household where the child's account was not accepted — attaches shame to the act of explaining. The mind that results is unusually careful, and the carefulness is what eventually makes it good. Precision here is not a temperament but a defence that turned into a skill, which is why it holds up under pressure that breaks more casual thinkers.

Trine or sextile, the difficulty has already been turned into method. These people explain hard things to frightened beginners better than anyone, precisely because they remember not understanding. Writing and teaching suit them, and the doubt shows only as an unwillingness to claim expertise. Ask them what they are good at and the answer will be qualified three times, which colleagues eventually stop taking at face value and read correctly as accuracy rather than modesty.

Square or opposition, saying the thing is the problem. Arguments are lost that were not lost on the facts; a good idea is held back and heard later from someone else.
