Mars supplies effort and appetite, Jupiter supplies scale and belief. Together they make an energetic and confident temperament. Enterprise is undertaken readily, physical vitality is good, and the person acts on conviction rather than waiting for permission. Sport, travel, campaigning and any venture requiring nerve suit the pairing. Timing is often lucky, largely because activity of this quantity produces opportunities. The characteristic error is proportion: taking on more than the schedule allows, backing a judgement past the point where it was still a judgement, and mistaking enthusiasm for a plan. The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
A trine or a sextile gives effort with good judgement attached. Energy is abundant, risks are taken at roughly the right moment, and enterprises begun tend to be finished. Physical confidence is high and recovery is quick. The soft version rarely gets tested, which means the person may never learn the difference between having been right and having been fortunate.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Squared or opposed, the same drive arrives with a rougher aim. Effort is overcommitted, risk is misjudged in the direction of optimism, and impatience turns a workable plan into a rushed one. Nothing about this is fixed. Repeated overreach teaches scale better than caution ever does, and these charts often end up both bold and accurate, in that order.
The conjunction
Conjunct, drive and confidence merge into considerable forward momentum. The person begins things at a scale others find alarming and is frequently vindicated. Physical courage is marked, as is a low tolerance for hesitation in anyone else. Rest is resisted. The placement does its best work with a cause large enough to absorb the energy, since a small one simply gets overwhelmed by it.

The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
