Chiron in aspect to North Node
Chiron marks what did not heal and the North Node marks where to go. Their contact says those are the same place. Development runs directly through the sore subject, which is why it is postponed for so long and why it works so decisively when it is finally undertaken. The competence built on the injury turns out to be the thing the person is for. Nothing about this is fair, and the people who have it generally stop objecting to that somewhere around the point where the work starts producing something.

The soft aspects (trine or sextile)
Trine or sextile, the passage from private trouble to public usefulness is already partly made. Others seek this person out for exactly what once undid them, and being sought out does much of the remaining repair. The mechanism is not insight but demand: it is difficult to keep believing you are defective while a queue of people is waiting for your help with the thing.
The hard aspects (square or opposition)
Square or opposition, the growth is defended against by the injury. Every approach to the necessary ground reopens the wound, so the person circles it for years. Small, repeated exposure with support does what a decision alone cannot — and the support matters more than the exposure, since this configuration will otherwise interpret each attempt as further evidence and stop.
The conjunction
Conjunct, healing and direction are indistinguishable. The vocation is visible early and taken up late, and the delay is not laziness — it is the time it takes to become able to stand in that particular room. Anyone who has this and is doing something adjacent to the real subject usually knows it, and the knowing is uncomfortable enough to be worth acting on.
Reading it in a chart
The orb settles how strongly this shows: a contact within a degree is a defining feature of a chart, one at the edge of the orb is a colouring. The signs the two planets occupy change the manner, the houses change the arena, and a third planet touching either of them can change the reading entirely.
