Pallas in the first house
Pallas in the first house puts applied intelligence into how a person is met. They are marked out as the clever one early, and the identity gets built on being able to work things out. Problems are perceived as shapes rather than obstacles. The corresponding difficulty is that not knowing feels like a failure of character rather than an ordinary condition, so being visibly a beginner is unusually uncomfortable.
In plain words
Pallas stands for how you spot patterns. This house is the part of your life about yourself and your body. Here, that shows up in how you look, how you start things and the first impression you make.

Which sign holds it
Under whole-sign houses the rising sign settles every other house at once. If you know your Ascendant, this is the sign your first house holds and the planet that rules it.

Quadrant systems such as Placidus cut the houses by the angles instead, so a planet near a cusp can land in a different house from the whole-sign answer. The chart page shows both.
Reading it in context
A keynote is a starting point, not a verdict. What Pallas actually does in your first house depends on its sign, its aspects, its dignity, and whether it is in sect. Two people with the same placement and different charts around it live it differently.
